Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Railway Upgrade Project

Biodiverse Environmental was engaged to undertake the environmental management of a significant railway upgrade on the Sunshine Coast, pre-construction and during construction of the upgrade.

A pre-clear weed survey was undertaken with particular reference to koalas, which may be impeded by weed incursion. The results of the weed survey informed our weed management crew of the weed species present, who then undertook herbicide application via our ATV, due to the boggy conditions.

As clearing commenced, our fauna spotter catchers assisted with fauna management within the site, through pre-clear surveys and fauna relocation services. A large dam was also dewatered during the works, with various fish and eel species relocated to a nearby waterway during this project.

A follow up weed survey was to be conducted one year later to determine the extent of weed incursion following completion of the construction.
