As part of the requirements for a proposed development application in Noosaville, Queensland, a Fauna Management Plan (FMP) was required in order to satisfy clearing works for the development.
Due to the proposed development site being located in close proximity to a pre-existing Species Management Plan (SMP) for acid frog populations, a site visit was conducted to ground truth the area.
During the ground truthing no ‘at risk’ species were found, which resulted in the FMP plan focussing primarily on potential habitat within the vegetation and surrounds. Following the conclusions of the FMP and the pre-existing SMP, all vegetation clearing works were to be undertaken with sensitivity.
Due to the presence of potential habitat and the potential for fauna movement within the site, a fauna spotter catcher was required to be present during all clearing works to manage any fauna located on-site.
