Biodiverse Environmental were engaged to carry out weed surveys for NF Corbett along the highway in Kilkivan (Queensland), to inform the client on the incursion of weeds listed as invasive species, as per the Biosecurity Act 2014 (QLD) for development or other purposes.
Invasive weeds within the site area were surveyed and mapped, which included both prohibited and restricted weed species as listed as invasive plants by Biosecurity Queensland.
During the surveys, several restricted weeds and environmental weeds were recorded and recommendations on best practice weed control were given.
Surveys of the land parcel, following the initial treatment of the invasive weeds, indicated that weeds had been treated sufficiently to satisfy the development approval conditions. Based on the survey and treatment results, recommendations were made that retreatment of the property may be required on a regular basis, as seedlings emerge.
