Biodiverse Environmental was commissioned by Moreton Bay Regional Council to undertake a pre-burn ecological assessment in Burpengary East. The ecological assessment was necessary to help decide if the planned burn boundary needed to be adjusted to avoid protected flora that would be adversely impacted by fire.
A site visit and meander survey were conducted by Biodiverse Environmental ecologists to ground truth the presence of protected flora in the proposed planned burn area.
During the survey, protected plant species were identified and mapped, so that the controlled burn could be planned to avoid impacting these fire sensitive species.
